Galveston Bay Buzz!

Hello Friends!

Are you recovering from temporarily becoming Irish for a day? My version of becoming Irish on St. Patrick’s Day consists of eating too much corned beef and cabbage.

This past weekend was gorgeous, and I hope you were able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. There’s just something about those perfect days when the sun is out, and the breeze is just right. It makes me want to slow down and enjoy what really matters.

In a world that constantly feels busy and fast-paced, it’s easy to move from one thing to the next without ever really pausing. But moments like this past weekend are a good reminder that it’s important to stop, breathe, and take a moment to refresh and refocus on what really matters. Whether that looked like time with family, catching up with friends, being outside, or just enjoying a quiet moment to yourself…. it all counts.

The older I get, the more I realize those small, quiet moments aren’t actually small at all. They’re the ones that help us reset and remind us to enjoy where we are right now instead of rushing onto the next thing.

Clear Lake and Beyond Developments

Webster is getting a new date night spot
Gauchos Do Sul opens March 19th, bringing a full Brazilian steakhouse experience to the area—think nonstop tableside meats, a stacked salad bar, and the kind of place you go when you’re ready to eat really well. If you’ve been waiting for something new to try around here… this might be it.

Master Planned Community- Midlane
A huge 1,000-acre master-planned community called Midline is opening models homes soon in Webster. Join them on April 18th and 19th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm for a Grand Opening Event. There will be live music, face painting, a rock wall, bounce house, treats and prizes — in addition to 6 models to tour. This development could include around 2,800 homes, trails, and resort-style amenities, making it one of the largest new communities in the Bay Area, Houston.

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake Expansion
A 132,000-square-foot expansion is currently underway at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake. The project will add dozens of beds and expanded medical facilities to meet growing demand in the Bay Area, Houston community. The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.

Sylvan Rodriguez Park Community Center
Plans are underway for a new 12,000-square-foot community center at Sylvan Rodriguez Park in Clear Lake. The space will include meeting rooms, exhibit space, and expanded park amenities.

What’s Trending Around Town

This trend isn’t exactly up my alley, but I know it’s something some of you will appreciate… Soft-serve margaritas are officially having a moment 🍦🍹
I did the research for you, so you don’t have to because that is what this newsletter is all about! I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on social media asking where to find these locally, and right now only a few spots are offering them in our surrounding areas.

VooDoo Hut (Kemah)
📍 511 Bradford Ave
Our true local MVP right now is serving up a Soft Serve Frosé and fully leaning into the trend.

Iguana Joe’s (Mont Belvieu)
📍 9118 Hwy 146
Just a short drive northeast with far less traffic than Houston, it’s a great family-friendly spot where you can enjoy the experience without the crowds.

Doña Leti’s (Houston)
📍 10425 S. Post Oak Rd
📍 7340 Washington Ave
The spot that helped kick this trend off locally, and they’re keeping soft-serve margaritas as a permanent menu item. I’ve heard the wait times can be pretty long, so be sure to plan ahead.

Insider take: It’s only a matter of time before these will start popping up all around our area, so keep your eyes on social media if this is up your alley.
