Hello Friends!
I hope you were able to relax and spend time with your family and friends this past weekend. We enjoyed ours as we indulged in a crawfish, crab, and shrimp boil — as well as fried catfish and shrimp — at our Chosen Family's house.
Spring is here! This past weekend, my taste buds danced as I bit into a lemon cookie and was reminded that we are in a new season — and with a new season comes new flavors. This time of year, is when the birds start chirping, the flowers are blooming, and my allergies are feeling conquered by a massive army of pollen. The goodness of spring outweighs the bad allergy days. If you have allergies, I highly suggest trying some allergy eye drops from your local drug store — that's just a suggestion, not medical advice. I purchased some recently and was shocked at how well they worked.
I don't want to keep you too long in my ramble section — we have so many fun local events this weekend, and I hope you can get out with your family to enjoy them before our why-do-I-live-here summer hits!

Texas City Developments
Texas City April Water Notice: From now until April 20th, Gulf Coast Water Authority will temporarily switch its water treatment to chlorine only. Texas City residents may notice a stronger chlorine smell, cloudy water, or a change in color. This is part of routine maintenance to flush the system. The water is safe to use during this process. More info: www.gcwatx.gov/annualchlorinemaintenance
The contract has been put in place to demolish the old City Hall located at 1801 9th Ave N, Texas City in the near future as Texas City makes way for a brand-new, two-story municipal complex built right on the same site. The new facility will bring together multiple city departments under one roof—including City Hall offices, Municipal Court, emergency management, and more—creating a more efficient, centralized hub to better serve the community. It will also feature a modern council chamber that doubles as a courtroom and an Emergency Operations Center designed to withstand Category 5 storms.
New traffic lights will soon be installed at two key intersections in Texas City—6th & 9th Street and 9th Street & Route 197. These upgrades are designed to improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians, making it easier and safer for everyone to navigate the area.
