Galveston Bay Buzz!

Hello Bay Area, Houston! I’m a little under the weather this week, so if you spot any typos, please give me some grace. I’m doing my best to recover quickly and may have already taken my entire weekly dose of vitamin C in one day. We only have two weeks left in 2025, and then we will begin a brand-new chapter in 2026. A new year always feels like a fresh start and the perfect time to set new goals. It’s hard to believe we’re almost in 2026, especially since I was born in the 1900s… way back in time! Back in the 1900s, life moved a little slower, and electronics didn’t control every aspect of our lives. Things were simpler, and the days seemed longer. Some days, I find myself wishing for that simplicity and dreaming of a quiet life in the woods, far away from the chaos and constant hustle. Until those dreams come true, I’ll continue searching for little hidden gems and quiet places to share with all of you. |
Texas City Spotlight
This week I’m back in Texas City, and I still can’t stop thinking about the Galveston Bay dolphins. They’ve easily been my favorite find so far, so I highly recommend taking the time to go find them. 🐬
Since the 1900s, Bases Hamburgers has been serving Texas City classic hamburgers and a small variety of other favorites. It’s been a true local staple from back when gas was cheaper, life moved slower, and no one left the house worrying about phone chargers.
If you’re looking for something sweet, head over to Refresqueria for dessert. They also have some delicious snacks! 🍧✨Try something new and unique!
Texas City Developments
New Restaurant: If you are in the mood for some Authentic Home Cookin’ then head over to The Jay Cafe. They have daily specials and soups listed on their website, along with a menu sure to fill your Southern heart’s desires.
New Coffee Shop: Go check out the 7 Brew Coffee at 3011 Farm to Market Road 1764, La Marque, TX that opened a few weeks ago. The drive is so short that your coffee won’t even cool off by the time you get back to Texas City.
Stay tuned… the buzz is just getting started. 🐝
