Hello, Friends!
I don't know about you, but something has definitely changed around Bay Area, Houston. It may not feel like fall yet, but it sure smells like it. Walk into just about any store and you'll be greeted by pumpkin candles, cinnamon brooms, apple cider scents, and enough fall decorations to make you forget it's still 90 degrees outside.
It's funny how quickly we all jump into fall mode. One day we're complaining about the heat, and the next we're buying mums for the front porch, convincing ourselves we need another pumpkin, and lighting a candle that smells like a fresh-baked pie.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, fall arrived with crisp mornings, colorful leaves, and that unmistakable smell of the changing seasons. Here in Texas, it's a little different. Our leaves stay green, the afternoons are still hot, and the mosquitoes haven't quite accepted that summer is over. But somehow, we still manage to embrace fall anyway.
Maybe that's what I love most about this season. It isn't really about the weather. It's about slowing down a little, opening the windows on those rare cool evenings, spending time with family and friends, wandering through farmers markets, and finding every excuse we can to enjoy being outside.
One of my favorite things about this time of year is that it feels like every weekend there's a new festival to explore. This is the season when Bay Area, Houston really comes alive. Community calendars start filling up with pumpkin patches, fall festivals, farmers markets, craft fairs, hayrides, and all the little hometown events that make living here so much fun. Before you know it, we'll be wandering through holiday markets wondering how Christmas got here so fast.
I'm determined to check out as many fall festivals as I can this season (strictly for newsletter research, of course). If you see me walking around with a coffee in one hand and a bag of kettle corn in the other, just know I'm fully committed to my job.
Now let's see what fun we can get into this week!

🛍️ All Up in the Bay's Business
It seems like every time I drive around Bay Area, Houston, I spot another "Coming Soon" sign or stumble across a place I didn't even know had opened. Here's a little business buzz from around the Bay!
🥙 CAVA Has Arrived in League City!
Healthy eating just got a whole lot tastier! CAVA is now serving up its famous Mediterranean bowls, pitas, salads, and dips. Think of it as the Mediterranean version of Chipotle—but with hummus, harissa, tzatziki, and enough toppings to make it nearly impossible to order the same thing twice. It's a great new option when you're craving something fresh without sacrificing flavor.
🍑 The Peach Cobbler Factory Is Sweetening Up Webster!
If you have a sweet tooth, you're going to want to add The Peach Cobbler Factory to your must-try list. The new Webster location officially opened in September and serves warm peach cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream, along with banana pudding, cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, and more. Let's be honest... I went for the peach cobbler, but I'm pretty sure I'd leave with at least three other desserts too.
🍦 League City Scoop Shop (Historic League City) – If you haven't stopped by yet, this new ice cream shop is serving up small-batch scoops right in the heart of Historic League City. It's the perfect excuse to grab dessert after dinner... or before dinner. I won't judge.
☕ Wayside Coffee Co. (Historic League City) – Sharing a space next to the Scoop Shop, this locally owned coffee spot has quickly become a favorite for handcrafted drinks and a cozy place to relax.
🍵 Coastal Teas (League City) – Looking for something besides coffee? This women-owned business has become a local favorite for loaded teas, protein shakes, coffee, and hydration drinks.
