Hello Friends!

This past week I have been living my best life in Greece, and on Greek time.

Diary from Greece: On May 1st we met the Greek cousins for brunch (Papu’s nephews- it’s a long story) who live here.

In Athens the streets are lined with orange trees full of gorgeous bright oranges that smell amazing. I asked the cousins why we can’t eat the oranges on the trees?? They said they are not edible, but picked me one to see for myself. They are not poisonous though, so I’m going to taste one before I leave. They are known as bitter oranges.

We had three or more espressos, way too many sweets, and walked 8 miles. We followed Google Maps driving through random alleys, got stuck in packed tourist streets, and made more wrong turns than I can count. Greeks clearly don’t believe in straight roads or square blocks because I have never felt more lost in a city. Look at a map of Athens and you’ll see what I mean.

Later on in the day we parked in the wrong spot near the Airbnb (the no parking sign had graffiti, so how were we supposed to know) and blocked a public transportation bus for no more than 15mins. After we walked outside and realized we were not supposed to be parked there we jumped in the car, and sped off while the bus driver yelled (most likely cussing) at us in Greek. Now we know where we can’t park!

There are as many street cats as there are bitter oranges on the trees. Also… toilet seats and toilet paper are optional, so don’t be unprepared. And dinner starts at 9pm.

My race car runs on premium, and your support…literally. If you’re loving this newsletter, help keep me in the fast lane (not going too fast) and Fuel the Buzz!
