Hi Friends!

I hope you are all doing well.

Do you ever feel like your life is strapped to a rocket that’s headed into space with no brakes? Because that's exactly how mine has felt lately. I'm just hanging on for dear life and hoping it lands somewhere that doesn't involve drywall dust or insurance claims.

The past few months have been a whirlwind. Ever since our house was struck by lightning, it feels like we've been living in one long home improvement project. We've been repairing and remodeling our home while actually living in it—which seemed like a great idea... until we actually did it! Somewhere in the middle of all that, my daughter got married. I honestly feel like I've lived half a lifetime in just one season.

As crazy as it's been, I wouldn't trade it. Life has a funny way of keeping us on our toes, and even in the chaos, there have been so many blessings. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in everything that's going wrong, but when I stop and look around, I'm reminded of just how much there is to be grateful for in my life. This season may have stretched me in ways I never expected, but I know it's also preparing me for whatever comes next.

Our house is finally starting to feel like home again! I don't think I've ever been so excited to unpack. I've been opening tote after tote, and it's honestly like Christmas morning. Every lid I take off is a surprise—"Oh! I forgot I had that!" or "So that's where this ended up!" It's amazing how quickly you forget what you packed when you've been living out of totes for weeks. Little by little, everything is finding its place back at our home... and so are we.

Now, I'm more than ready for one of my favorite seasons. You can almost feel that little hint of fall in the air... well, at least inside the coffee shops with the A/C blasting! Pumpkin spice is back, community calendars are filling up, and before we know it, we'll be strolling through fall markets, picking out pumpkins, and enjoying all the local festivals. I don't know about you, but I'm more than ready to trade triple-digit temperatures for crisp mornings, cozy sweaters, and everything fall has to offer.

So, grab your favorite cup of coffee, settle in, and let's see what's buzzing around Bay Area, Houston this week!

Who's Moving Into the Neighborhood?

If you're anything like me, you've probably driven past a construction site and thought, "I wonder what's going in there?" Don't worry... I won't tell anyone you're just as nosy as I am!

Bay Area, Houston is growing faster than my collection of storage totes during our home renovation, and it seems like every week there's a new restaurant, coffee shop, or business getting ready to open its doors. So, I rounded up a few of the exciting projects headed our way. Who knows... your next favorite lunch spot or weekend hangout might be just around the corner!

🥧 House of Pies (Webster) – One of Houston's most iconic restaurants is coming to Webster! Before long, you'll be able to enjoy their famous pies, all-day breakfast, and classic comfort food favorites right here in the Bay Area—no trip into Houston required.

🍗 Preslee's Southern Good Eatery (Webster) – Another exciting addition is headed to Webster! Preslee's Southern Good Eatery is transforming the former Hop building into its newest location. If you love Southern comfort food, this is one restaurant you'll definitely want to keep an eye on.

🦐 Schafer's Coastal Kitchen (Nassau Bay) – One of the Bay Area's most anticipated restaurant openings is getting closer! Located in the former Luby's building across from Space Center Houston, Schafer's Coastal Kitchen will feature fresh Gulf seafood, steaks, craft cocktails, and a beautiful space for date nights, family dinners, and celebrations.

🥣 Rush Bowls (Clear Lake) – Looking for a healthier option? Rush Bowls is coming soon near the University of Houston–Clear Lake, serving protein bowls, açaí bowls, smoothies, and fresh grab-and-go meals. It sounds like the perfect stop for breakfast or lunch on the go.

🛍️ Flyway Development (Webster) – Big things are still happening near Baybrook Mall! Construction continues on the new Flyway development, which will eventually bring more restaurants, shopping, hotels, and entertainment to the Bay Area. It's exciting to see so much growth happening right here in our own backyard.
