Hello, Friends!
I hope you're all doing well and enjoying these earlier evenings. Every night as the sun starts to set, you can almost feel fall trying to sneak into Bay Area, Houston. The afternoons may still be reminding us that it's Texas, but the evenings are finally giving us a little taste of what's to come.
The only thing missing? Trees that actually change colors! Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, fall meant mountains covered in brilliant reds, oranges, and golden yellows. Every year I wait for that same colorful show here... and every year our trees politely decline. I guess they're perfectly happy staying green while the rest of us are over here pretending it's fall with cozy candles, pumpkin-flavored everything, and the A/C still running.
Do you ever have one of those days where you just want to throw a few things in the car, grab your favorite cup of coffee, point it toward the sunset, and see where the road takes you? No plans. No schedule. No emails. Just a full tank of gas, good music, a hot cup of coffee, and an endless road ahead. There's just something about a little adventure that resets your soul.
Life has been moving at rocket speed lately, and I think my "low fuel" light has officially come on. Sometimes the best thing we can do is hit pause, even if it's just for a day or two. So that's exactly what I'm doing this weekend—I'm heading out on a little adventure to explore somewhere new. I'll be sure to share all the fun (and hopefully a few hidden gems) with you in next week's newsletter!
Until then, grab your favorite fall drink—even if you're still sweating while you drink it—and let's see what's buzzing around the Bay this week! 🐝🍂

Coffee Is Brewing Around the Bay
It seems like everywhere I turn, another local coffee shop is rolling out its fall menu—and honestly, I'm here for it! While plain pumpkin spice has never really been my thing, give me cookie butter, maple pecan, caramel apple, or just about anything with strong espresso, and I'm all in. So, naturally, I felt it was my civic duty to round up some of the best locally owned coffee shops around Bay Area, Houston. Someone has to do the hard work!
Grab a friend, try something new, and see how many of these local coffee spots you can check off your fall bucket list.
Java Owl Coffee House (Nassau Bay) – One of the area's favorite neighborhood coffee shops, known for creative seasonal drinks and locally roasted coffee.
Ca Phe Phin (Clear Lake/NASA) – A hidden gem for authentic Vietnamese coffee, egg coffee, and bánh mì.

Nawa Coffee House (Friendswood) – A newer favorite featuring Turkish coffee, pistachio lattes, date lattes, and Middle Eastern pastries.

Monarch Pastries and Coffee House (Friendswood) – House-made syrups, specialty coffee, and incredible pastries in a cozy setting.
Cherry Moon (Webster) – Known for Central American coffee, fresh pastries, and a bright, welcoming atmosphere.
Soulfreak Railroad Cafe (League City & Seabrook) – Great coffee, local art, and a fun atmosphere in Historic League City, with a second location now open in Seabrook.

Challenge: Visit a new coffee shop each weekend this fall and let me know which one deserves the title of Bay Area, Houston's best fall coffee! 🍂☕

If fall had an official headquarters near Bay Area, Houston, I think Froberg's Farm in Alvin would be at the top of the list.
Their annual Fall Festival runs through November 8, and if you're looking for a little fall fun, this is one place that's worth adding to your bucket list.
Grab a pumpkin, wander through the corn maze, snap a few family photos, pick fresh flowers, and let the kids burn off some energy on attractions like the Bee Coaster, Jumping Pillow, duck races, giant slides, and more. Of course, no trip is complete without stopping inside the country store for homemade pies, fried pies, cookies, kettle corn, fresh produce, and all the fall goodies you somehow didn't know you needed.
It's the perfect excuse to spend a Saturday making memories, sipping on a fall drink, and pretending the Texas heat isn't still hanging around.
Sometimes the best adventures are hiding right in our own backyard. ✨

🛍️ Wander through a local farmers market and support a few small businesses while you're there.
📸 Snap a few fall photos—even if it's just your coffee sitting next to a pumpkin. It still counts!
🍂 Freshen up your front porch with pumpkins, mums, and a few touches of fall.
🌅 End the weekend by catching a sunset over Clear Lake, Kemah, or Seabrook with your favorite coffee in hand.
