Hello, Friends!
Does anyone else feel like life is flying by at the speed of a jet plane? It seems as if we were just complaining about the summer heat, and now I can already smell Thanksgiving turkey, pecan pie, and cinnamon rolls baking in the oven.
This past weekend, I headed out in search of some fall fun with my husband. In my mind, I was picturing crisp air, cozy sweaters, and a hot cup of coffee. Instead, about halfway through the car show, I realized Texas had other plans. It was warm enough that my sweater never made it out of the car, and somewhere between browsing the vendors and admiring the classic cars, I managed to eat enough fresh kettle corn to almost ruin my appetite for lunch. By the time we headed to lunch, I was hot, happy, and carrying enough kettle corn to feed a small family. But let's be honest... who can walk past the smell of fresh kettle corn and not buy a bag? I know I can't!
The rest of the weekend flew by in the blink of an eye, but somehow time seemed to slow down every time I lost my husband somewhere between the rows of classic cars. I'd look up, and he'd completely disappear into another line of shiny engines and chrome. I finally learned that if I couldn't find him, I just needed to look for the most expensive car in sight!
It reminded me how important these little moments really are. We get so busy rushing from one thing to the next that we forget there's a whole community full of fun things happening right outside our front door. Sometimes all it takes is stepping away from the to-do list, getting out of the house, and exploring somewhere new. You never know what you'll discover—or how many memories you'll make along the way.
Now, let's see what fun we can find around Bay Area, Houston this week!

🛍️ All Up in the Bay's Business
Bay Area, Houston just keeps growing! Every week another restaurant or business quietly opens its doors before I can even add it to my list. Here are a few new spots that have caught my eye and are definitely worth checking out!
Juicy Joint Is Bringing the Flavor to Webster! Burger lovers, get ready! Juicy Joint has opened its newest location in Webster, serving up juicy Wagyu smash burgers, loaded fries, gourmet hot dogs, and crave-worthy sides. If you're always on the hunt for your next favorite burger spot, this one is definitely worth adding to your list.
Refresqueria Is Cooling Off Webster! Looking for a sweet way to beat the Texas fall heat? Refresqueria has officially opened in Webster, serving refreshing aguas frescas, Mexican street corn, chamoy-covered treats, snow cones, fresh fruit cups, and strawberries with cream. It's the perfect stop when you're craving something cold, sweet, and just a little bit spicy.

The Snowbirds Are Arriving... and They're Bringing Their Friends!
Did you know we have some winter visitors making their way to Bay Area, Houston?
Every fall, American white pelicans begin arriving along Galveston Bay, joining our year-round brown pelicans for the cooler months. These beautiful birds travel south from their northern breeding grounds, and some have wingspans stretching more than nine feet! That's a whole lot of bird flying overhead.
One of the best places to catch a glimpse of these seasonal visitors is in Seabrook. McHale Park, Bayside Park, and Pine Gully Park are all worth adding to your list. You might spot a group of white pelicans floating across the water or watch the brown pelicans putting on quite the show as they dive headfirst for their next meal.
So, if you're looking for something a little different to do this fall, grab your camera, a pair of binoculars, and head toward the water. You never know what you'll discover when you slow down and look around.
And the best part? These visitors don't need a guest bedroom, won't eat everything in your refrigerator, and they'll head home on their own!
