Hello, Friends! ❤️
I hope your week is going well and that you're staying safe. It's definitely been rainy, and the kind of week that makes me want to curl up in the corner with a good book and a hot cup of coffee.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest (I'm a born-again Southerner), where the rain is more of a steady drizzle for most of the year. These Texas monsoons, where it feels like the floodgates of heaven have opened, still catch me off guard sometimes. Even after all these years, I still underestimate just how much rain can fall from the sky at once.
Just the other day, I was convinced I could make it from the grocery store to my car with my arms full of grocery bags and a collapsing umbrella that had clearly given up on life. By the time I reached my car, I looked like I had just showered fully clothed. Needless to say, the umbrella lost the battle and completely gave up before I even made it to the car.
If there's one thing I've learned, it's this: never underestimate a Texas monsoon, and I definitely wouldn't recommend a compact umbrella if you live here.
